The mission of Albin Elementary School is to prepare students to be life-long learners with diversified skills to become successful members of Society.

Great News!!

I just received a call from the chair of our School Board, Esther Davison.  She was returning from Casper where she, Mr. Cozort, and others had attended a meeting of the School Facilities Commission.  Albin Elementary was listed on the agenda so that the fate of the 60s addition could be determined.  Their decision was . . . . we can keep the 60s addition!
The 60s addition is now being considered as an "enhancement" to our building.  Most enhancements to school buildings are things such as concession stands, football fields, tracks, etc.  If the SFC dubs a facility an enhancement, the district may then use up to 10% of its major maintenance dollars to maintain the enhancement.  So not only do we get to keep the building, we can maintain it as well!  This is a homerun for us!
One word of caution:  the SFC acts in an advisory capacity to the governor.  The governor must still sign off on it.  Once he places his signature to it, it will be a done deal.
A big thank you needs to go to our facilities director, Troy Decker, Mr. Cozort, and the school board members for respectfully being persistent with the SFC so they would understand our dilemna.  Also, a big thank you to you, our parents and community, for voicing your concerns and working with us to communicate the importance of keeping the 60s addition.

WE LOVE OUR SCHOOL!!
